Call for withdrawal of government shares from BATB

A roundtable consultation with relevant stakeholders and eminent civil society members has organized MANAS (Madok o Nesha Nirodhok Siogostha), and the UNION on the divestment of government shares from the Tobacco Industry dated 24th May 2022, at Dhaka Reporters Unity, Nasrul Hamid Milanayatan, Dhaka Tuesday at 11:00am.

Speakers, MANAS President Prof. Dr. ArupRatan Choudhury, Former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Dr. A.A.M.S Arefin Siddique, former Vice-Chancellor of BSMMU Prof. Dr. Kamrul Hasan Khan, former chairman of the National Board of Revenue. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdul Majid, Project Director, Bangladesh Cancer Society- Dr. Golam Mohiuddin Farooq and Advocate Syed Mahbubul Alam, Technical Advisor of The Union at the exchange of views on “Effective Tobacco Control, Withdrawal of Shares from Tobacco Companies” expressed different views.
