MANAS met the Advisor, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare

On 26 January 2025, a delegation of MANAS met the Hon’ble Advisor, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) tobacco control and Non Communicable Disease control issues at the Bangladesh Secretariat.

MANAS thanked to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for all the concerned for banning e-cigarettes in the import policy order of Ministry of Industry. Delegates requested to Advisor for taking immediate steps to stop the production, marketing and promotion of e-cigarettes in the country. Honourable Special Assistant of the Advisor, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Md. Sayedur Rahman was present at the meeting. Fruitful discussions were also held on the steps to be taken to strengthen health protection and disease prevention. An overview of the discussion were presented by the Professor Dr. ArupRatan Choudhury and Syed Mahbubul Alam.
