Amendment of TC Law is Essential to make Bangladesh Tobacco Free.

On March 11 2023, Bangladesh Television organized a live program on “Strengthening of Tobacco Control Law”. (Watch Full Video) Founder President of MANAS Heroic Freedom Fighter Professor Dr. Arup Ratan Choudhury attended as an expert discussant in the event. Also, the former Governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr. Atiur Rahman and Honorable Prime Minister’s personal doctor ABM Abdullah spoke on the program.

Dr. ArupRatan Choudhury said, the existing “Smoking and Tobacco Products Usage (Control) Act, 2005 needs various amendments including the abolition of smoking places, increase in pictorial health warnings by 90%, prohibition of ‘CSR’ activities by tobacco companies, prohibition of e-cigarettes and adaptation of licensing provisions is essential to make Bangladesh tobacco-free by 2040 as our hon’ble Prime Minister declared.
